I was surprised and thrilled by the new work in ink on paper by the American artist George Condo (1957). Large in format, his aim has been to experiment with all the possibilities that ink on paper offers him.

Equally impressive was his new exhibition of Cubist paintings. Condo describes this work as psychological Cubism. George Condo says that Picasso painted a violin from four different perspectives in a single instant, and that he does the same with psychological states. Four of them can occur simultaneously: laughing, listening, crying, sleeping. And he renders them in a single face.
