The Repose of Consciousness, or Grip Face’s Days at the “El Nucleo” Residency

This past Saturday, 10 September, the spaces of the Fundacion SZ hosted the presentation of the artistic residency project “El Nucleo,” brought to us by Cerquone Gallery. It was the closing presentation of the artist Sebastian Oliver, better known as Grip Face.

This past Saturday, 10 September, the spaces of the Fundacion SZ hosted the presentation of the artistic residency project “El Nucleo” brought to us by Cerquone Gallery. It was the closing presentation of the artist Sebastian Oliver, better known as Grip Face.

“El Nucleo” is an artists’ residency where the artists will spend a season living in Segovia, in contact with nature, in a space removed from everyday city life, where each artist will undergo a completely different experience, one that will seek to be reflected in the works they create during their time residing in that space.

The residency helps the artist find that time of repose of consciousness; it invites them to delve into themselves without any concrete goal, to let themselves be carried along by the flow of what they feel, what they perceive, what they long for, so that any walk, on foot or on horseback, is transfigured into a set of images whose singularity evokes masterpieces.
